About Us

Welcome to our wonderful world of Pugs. (Pictured to the left is my son getting some kisses from the girls).

Our story begins back in 1998 when we bought our first Pug. She wasn't a show dog and may not have won any blue ribbons, but she certainly won our hearts. After having this delightful creature in our lives I just knew that I wanted to be involved in this breed so I started doing some research and in 2000 we bought our first show dog. She went on to become a AKC champion in a short period of time. Shortly after we got her we also bought our first black male. He too finished very quickly and so as the story goes, we were thoroughly bitten by the show bug.

Since that time we have finished a number of Pugs to their championship, either ones that we have bred, shown ourselves or our handler has shown*. Our primary goals are to breed the healthiest and conformationally correct Pugs we can. With that in mind, we do selective breedings on limited basis. We breed for ourselves first with the hope that there will be that next promising puppy that will grow up to be a champion and earn a place in our future breeding program. Above all of the showing, it comes right down to the fact that we love this breed, love the companionship they offer and the unconditional love that they give. If the day ever came when we put the show leads away for good, I can assure you that it wouldn't be the end of our journey with Pugs, as we will always have one in our lap, snoozing at our feet and in our lives. We feel blessed to have them (or rather for them to claim ownership of us).

When we plan a breeding and have puppies available, we are very selective with whom we place them with. We choose to rarely sell show puppies anymore, but when we do they are offered to people we know and trust. Besides our love for Pugs, we also enjoy traveling, art, boating, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

We hope you enjoy visiting our website and if you have any questions or comments feel free to drop us a line. You can also read updates on what we are up to by visiting our blog: http://www.journeywithpugs.blogspot.com
